Our names are Craig Mosmen and Michael Cassano, and we graduated from the University of Delaware in the Spring of 2000. We spent many of our years in college working together in the restaurant industry, watching and learning the ways of running a small business. We found ourselves fascinated and excited at the prospect of one day owning our own restaurant. After graduation, it did not take long for us to realize that dream.

The original Couch Tomato Cafe’ was born in September of 2003 in the town of Manayunk, PA. Thanks to the tremendous support of the customers ever since, The Couch Tomato was fortunate enough to expand the business into the upper levels of the building, offering additional seating, a bar, and table-side service – The Couch Tomato Bistro opened in the Fall of 2011.

Most recently we have introduced a second branch of the cafe’ to the vibrant town of West Chester (PA), as of January, 2015!

Our mission has been to consistently source organic and local produce, hormone and anti-biotic free meats, and an overall “natural” product whenever possible. We make our white and wheat pizza crust entirely with organic ingredients. The red pizza sauce is made with tomatoes roasted fresh daily in our ovens (not canned). The beverages range from organic, to all-natural, to fair trade certified. To further extend the offerings, you will also find an award winning house-made gluten free pizza crust, local and non-gmo cookies, and much more!

We are committed to an extraordinary emphasis on the quality and integrity of our product and take great pride in our scratch kitchen. We go that extra mile, and look forward to continuing our healthy evolution.
