The Couch Tomato Cafe’ customers can finally say goodbye to the infamous parking issues of Manayunk!!

Attention Couch Tomato customers: We have some exciting news!

The Couch Tomato Café is currently in the process of expanding their Manayunk location. This exciting new expansion project, called “The Tomato Bistro” will add seating for an additional 70-80 people on the 2nd & 3rd floors; decorated with high ceilings, fireplaces, and an overall eccentric design and fun atmoshere. The “Tomato Bistro” will invite customers to enjoy a formal dining experience (including a wait staff), an expanded lunch and dinner menu, and a liquor license. But don’t worry, The Couch Tomato Cafe’ on the first floor won’t change a bit!

Who is the upstairs restaurant going to be best suited for?

• The upstairs will welcome people of all ages, offering much more formal seating and service, inviting both small and large groups, and families. There will be an expanded menu upstairs along with a liquor license. You should bring your kids!

What is going to be the name of the restaurant upstairs?

• “The Tomato Bistro” will be the name of the new restaurant upstairs. The Tomato Bistro and The Couch Tomato Café will share the same front door entrance ways, however we will be offering quick-service seat-yourself style dining in the café, and a more formalized wait service and table seating upstairs in The Tomato Bistro. So, where you end up once you get here depends on your mood!

Where is the entrance to the upstairs restaurant going to be?

• The café will undergo very minimal changes, considering both layout changes and operational changes. However there will be a new an inviting staircase that will direct you straight up to The Tomato Bistro.

When is The Tomato Bistro going to be open to the public?

• We are hoping to open The Tomato Bistro in the Fall of 2009. We are re-building the 2nd & 3rd floors from scratch to offer a new and exciting look to the Tomato Bistro’s dining room. Therefore, we are trying to get things just right, patience being a virtue.

Why are you adding The Tomato Bistro to the café?

• We are responding to our #1 complaint – “You don’t have enough seats!” With the added seating, we hope to invite more groups to dine in. And if you’re lucky, we may expand our hours!

How has this expansion become possible for The Couch Tomato Café?

• We need to express our most heart-felt appreciation to our customers for their tremendous support as we now enjoy our 6th year of business. Without your support, this would not be possible, and for that we thank you… and plan to offer great food and a great dining experience!
